To calculate the time it takes to travel a given distance at a specific speed, you can use the formula: {Time} = {Distance}/ {Speed}} In this case, the distance is 45 miles and the speed is 60 mph. {Time} = {45 miles}}/{60 { mph}} = 0.75 hours To convert 0.75 hours into minutes, multiply by 60: 0.75 hours*60 = 45 minutes Therefore, it will take 45 minutes to reach the location.

Using the formula speed= distance/ time Your speed is 60mph Distance travelled is 45 miles Time is not given we have to find that. Take note that you may be asked to convert your time seconds or leave it in hours but your question does not state converting so you can do anyone. So you calculate like this: 60mph=45/T Here we use T as a value to represent time since we don't know what time is. Cross multiply: 60mph*T= 45miles T=45/60 T=0.75 hours you can now choose to leave your answer in hours or convert it to seconds

Hey! Great Question! So first of all you need to be thourough with the formula showcasing relationship between speed, distance and time. The formula is: Speed (S) = Distance (D)/Time (T) Now, here speed, i.e., S= 60 mph and distance, i.e., D= 45 miles. Substituting the values in formula, 60= 45/T Multiplying both sides with T: 60T= 45 Dividing bith sides by 60: T= 3/4 Hence, your answer is 3/4th of an hour, i.e. 45 minutes. Hope that helps! The time it will take for them to get to the location will be the value of the distance of travel which is 45 miles divided by the speed of travel which is 60 mph. That will give us 0.75 h. Since we have 60 minutes in 1 hour this means that the time it will take the person to reach the location will be 0.75 × 60 which is equal to 45 minutes.

Hi Alice, The formula used to work out time is: time=distance/speed (time equals distance divided by speed) so, time = 45 / 60 = 0.75 to convert 0.75 into minutes you times by 60 (as there are 60 minutes in 1 hour) so, 0.75 x 60 = 45 (minutes) With this particular question, travelling at 60 mph (i.e 60 miles every 60 minutes) means that you travel 1 mile per minute, (60/60 = 1) therefore to travel 45 miles takes 45 minutes (1 x 45) Hope that makes sense.

Rearrange the equation so Time becomes the subject, Time= Distance/Speed 4. Input the values, Time=45/60= 0.75hours 5. To convert from hours to minutes x60 because there are 60minutes in an hour, 0.75x60= 45minutes!

Hi Alice, Imagine you're driving to a place 45 miles away, and you're going at a speed of 60 miles per hour. To figure out how long it takes, think of it like this: if you travel 60 miles in one hour, then in half an hour, you’ll travel 30 miles. That means in 45 minutes (which is three-quarters of an hour), you’ll travel 45 miles exactly. So, it will take you 45 minutes to reach your destination!

Hi Alice, The definition of speed is how long you travelled per a certain amount of time and the calculation is speed = distance/time. As you can see the speed in your question is 60 mph so in one hour you would have travelled 60 miles. You can rearrange this formula to time = distance/speed. In this case time = 45/60 = which cancels down to 3/4. As the units in the question are in hours, this is 3/4 of an hour which is 45 minutes. If you remember the formula speed = distance over time then you can rearrange it for all questions of this time to get your answer. I hope this helps!

Hi Alice, You're travelling at 60mph. There are 60 minutes in an hour. Speed = distance/ time taken, and therefore time = distance/ speed. So in one minute, you are travelling 60/60 miles, which equals 1 mile per minute. So to travel 45 miles, it would take 45 x 1 minute = 45 minutes.

This is actually a Physics question or so to say applied Math question You have to know the formula of Speed =Distance /Time or Speed is the Distance travelled in a certain time Now in your example the Distance is 45km and the Speed is 60mph ( 60 miles per hour) In Physics you have to work with the same units of measure for the same quantities so miles for miles . Because the speed is in hours the time will result in hours 60mph=45 miles/Time Time=45miles/60mph=3/4h transform 3/4h in minutes 3/4x60=45 min

The vehicle is travelling at 60miles per hour and the distance is 45 miles. So, if we divide 45 miles by 6o miles per hour, we get a travel time of 3/4 of 1 hour. 3/4 of 60 minutes is 45 mins. If we look at the units, we have miles/miles per hour which means that the two 'miles' units cancel out andwe are left withthe time in hours.

The most simple way to see this is with dimensional analysis. Distance is in miles and the speed is in miles per hour. As we need a time, in hours, it’s clear that we must divide by a speed. Therefore the only option is distance divided by speed, which is 45/60 =0.75 hours or 45 minutes.
