Advert description
Life coaching will be delivered using a CBT approach to create a structured, supportive, and goal-oriented plan that helps navigate challenges and develop essential skills. The process begins with an initial conversation to build rapport and understand the student’s concerns, goals, and current situation. We identify specific areas of focus, whether academic, personal, or social. This involves exploring their thought patterns, behaviours, and emotional responses to uncover potential obstacles to their progress.
Once a clear understanding is established, we will set realistic, achievable goals together, and develop a roadmap that breaks these goals into manageable steps.
Throughout the coaching process, we will examine the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. By introducing relevant tools, we will recognize unhelpful thinking patterns, such as catastrophizing or self-doubt, that may hinder progress. From this, we should learn to reframe these thoughts into more constructive and balanced perspectives, which fosters a more helpful mindset.
Practical strategies play a significant role in this approach. For example, if a student struggles with procrastination, we might collaborate to create structured schedules or introduce time management techniques. If anxiety about exams is a concern, relaxation techniques or mindfulness exercises can be integrated to help them manage their emotional responses. These strategies are tailored to the student’s unique needs and are continually evaluated for effectiveness.
Regular reflection is a cornerstone of the process. We will review their progress in each session, discussing successes and addressing any setbacks. This reflection helps reinforce positive changes, provides opportunities to refine strategies, and builds the student’s confidence in their ability to overcome challenges. Feedback is constructive and encouraging, emphasizing growth rather than perfection.
Ultimately, the focus is on empowering the student to adopt a more helpful growth mindset, as they gain a deeper understanding of themself.
