Advert description
I am a qualified yoga therapist, and am regulated by the Complementary Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I have also met the performance outcomes for National Occupational standards and curriculum set by The British Council for Yoga. Yoga therapy is taught by yoga teachers with additional training and experience in the therapeutic
adaptation and application of yoga. People may be taught one-to-one or in a therapy group setting. It can be appropriate for a wide range of ages and lifestyles as well as those looking for a healthier way of life.
Small group therapeutic sessions (no more than six people): an opportunity for us to come together, share insights, introduce some new perspectives from leading experts in the field of mental health, chronic pain, to develop a better awareness of ourselves, on a physical and mind/emotional level. Sessions can include a mix of people with different health needs or themed, around specific health conditions e.g. teaching practices that may help relieve symptoms associated with stress, menopause, musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain. Small group settings can facilitate a more individual approach as well as the opportunity to delve deeper into practice themes and topics.
Tailored one to one appointments (for specific needs)
In a typical first yoga therapy session a medical history will be taken. The body, posture, simple
movements and the breath may be observed and issues and concerns discussed. Working with yoga therapeutically is about the whole person. I will then assess how yoga therapy may help before planning and teaching a practice tailored to the needs of that individual. Practices may include one or more of arrange of techniques such as posture work, breathing, relaxation, visualisation, reflection, and/or meditation. A number of sessions are likely to be needed to confirm safe and appropriate practice.
