University Lecturer offering A level Sociology/Psychology support, UCAS personal statement writing, and SEND support

Advert description
* I am a PHD qualified Lecturer in Philosophy, with extensive experience of teaching at undergraduate level.

During my employment as a University Lecturer, I had sole responsibility for running 4 undergraduate courses, including the full range of responsibilities ( from deciding on course content, to devising and delivering lectures). All of my courses were rated as 'outstanding'. I also worked with small seminar groups of varying ability, creating strategies that worked to engage each group, utilizing an interactive teaching style that was more tailored and reciprocal than formal lecturing. This lecturing and teaching experience places me in a uniquely valuable position of being able to support students academically and understand the nature of their academic challenges: I am familiar with the philosophy of education and various strategies and methods for effective learning for a range of learning styles and abilities.

* 3 years of one-to-one academic tuition in a high achieving local sixth form.

In my current role as an In-house tutor at Langley Park School for girls, I teach all A level subjects, but have particular expertise in the subjects of Psychology, Philosophy, English, Sociology and History.

Supporting a student effectively requires appreciation of the unique nature of their academic challenges. So, rather than relying on generic tropes, I work to create a tailored plan for the individual that takes into account the particulars of their condition and situation. Every student is unique, as are the nuances of the challenges they face.

* UCAS and cover-letter writing

I run a UCAS drop in in my current role - helping students to craft Personal Statements that will unlock the best chances of success on their chosen path. I can help students with the full process of creating a personal statement, for any subject or chosen career. Having worked as a member of academic staff at a red-brick University, I have a great insight as to what the admissions teams are looking for in prospective students. I dedicate significant time and personal effort to this enterprise, and the end result is always a statement that is perfectly written and constructed.

Molly was a wonderful tutor and mentor. We worked through the whole Psychology A level together. I am predicted an A*. Molly set me weekly homework, and was always happy to be contacted for extra help outside of lessons. She really gave me confidence in my abilities, and helped me to stay focused on my goals.
