I’m a Qualified Native English Teacher with more than 25 years experience in the classroom and as a tutor. I have a degree English Literature and Masters in English Language and my great loves are Shakespeare and Victorian novels - especially Dickens and George Eliot.

I’ve taught for 12 years at Secondary level (ages 11-18) and 10 years of primary level especially years 5 & 6. This has included GCSE Language and Literature and A level Literature. I have also tutoring in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning for State Grammar schools in Surrey and Cheshire and for top independent schools Nationwide.

I think the most important role of a tutor is to i still confidence in the student and provide the tools for them to work independently. I often use exam questions as starting points and we work together to plan and develop model answers
