I have privately tutored many students in the past, and have had success in raising grades from 4s/5s to grade 8s and 9s. My format is simple: quality over quantity. I focus on ensuring that the material is understood and absorbed rather than overwhelming students with a large number of tasks. I am content and exam technique driven, and this means I am able to reduce and convert content into bite-sized chunks making it more manageable.

Another mission of mine is to also show how English and History can be enjoyable and interesting. I do this through the structure of my lessons in which I include interesting literary critiques, facts and concepts, forcing students to think and consequently digest the material.

I work with all levels, abilities and targets- making any goal seem achievable. As a student myself I understand that sometimes the education system can drain and make students feel unmotivated or even unworthy. This is why as part of my lessons I will be encouraging, driven and inspired to consolidate the grades that you need.

As I have mentioned above, my lessons are not intense per se but my programme is. I am friendly, enthusiastic and encouraging but this does not mean my lessons are not challenging or challenging enough. Any plan that is decided is done so through my assessments of the students needs, their wishes and their goals. I accommodate to all learning styles and needs by either being present or teaching online. This means that my students play a big role in deciding what they would like to do in order to improve. Teaching is about evaluating and understanding what the best options are for each and individual student, and I can offer that.
