Advert description
Hello and Welcome,
My name is Janine - but most people call me Jai and I'm here to support you with all things Psychology-related.
I have over 20 years of experience supporting students with their education, communication, and learning within the home, school, and college, both face-to-face and via online platforms.
I'm familiar with the AQA, OCR and Edexcel syllabus and marking structure for both GCSE and A level, but in my experience, it's not always just the content or expectations of the course that students find difficult.
With many students that I work with, low self-confidence and self-worth or not feeling good enough can also block the ability to retain or process the information that they are trying to learn. It's not that they can't learn at all, it's usually that, anxieties or worries around studying or life are affecting the brain's ability to focus on what it needs to.
This is a normal response at times to life's ups and downs and as a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist for over 3 years, who specialises in working with children and young people, empowering them, and building their self-confidence is at the heart of what I do.
I'm now coming toward the end of my degree in Psychology with the Open University and I have spent a lot of time mentoring first-year degree students. I've also had experience as a visiting lecturer for trainee Counselling students.
I have an up-to-date DBS certificate and I really welcome the opportunity to work with you.
Sessions will be centred around you and what you need and how you prefer to learn.
The first session is free and is an easy get-to-know-you session to see if you feel comfortable working with me and to find out more about what you need to help you reach your full learning potential.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Warmly,
Jai
