About me

Sessions are designed to suit you and your type of learning. I call them sessions, rather than lessons as we are not in the classroom. Here, learning with me will be different from how you experience it at school or college. In my mind, this is extra time that you are choosing to commit to and so we are in this together. Sessions are designed to suit you and your type of learning. I call them sessions, rather than lessons as we are not in the classroom. Here, learning with me will be different from how you experience it at school or college. In my mind, this is extra time that you are choosing to commit to and so we are in this together. It's important that you get a say in how you learn and that you feel comfortable asking any questions that you need to, without feeling any judgment from me. I'm here to make learning easier for you, not harder.

We can break things down into easily manageable steps and make the tasks as fun and interactive as possible. Tasks will be offered to you and if you do not like the idea of the task, then I can suggest a different way of approaching the topic.

I also appreciate that time with me is extra on top of an already long day, so it's important for me that it doesn't feel like a chore for you. My hope is that when you start working with me that you will begin to look forward to our sessions together.

In our first session, we can explore what examining board you are working with, how you are finding Psychology in general, what topics you have covered so far and how you would like sessions to be structured. There will also be time to answer any questions you may have.

Usually, during sessions, I spend time checking in with students to see how they are and identify what current topics they may be finding difficult or if there is anything they would like to go over again. We then make a plan about how to best use the time to either learn about a specific chosen topic within the curriculum, how to break down the understanding of the questions and answers on tests and exam papers, and or how to understand the marking scheme and what the exam board is looking for. These are some examples, but what is important is that we have the opportunity to explore the topics or concepts that you are finding difficult.

I use zoom as a platform which means that we can make the session as interactive as possible with links to activities, quizzes, videos, and worksheets that help to make the time fun. I really enjoy supporting students, and I'm told that I'm really kind and understanding, so why not book a free session to see what you think?
