Advert description
I have a Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology and Crime and a BSc (Hons) Psychology Degree. I also work as an Associate Lecturer in Psychology at a local college.
I have been tutoring since the pandemic, when I used to provide online tutoring. However, since we came out of lockdown, I have been a private tutor covering the radius from Exmouth to Exeter, travelling to local schools and the homes of pupils who have been removed from mainstream school.
I have an enhanced DBS Certificate, which is current and renewed yearly.
Although my degrees are in Psychology, I have been able to teach all the subjects above from early years to GCSE level, with the exception of Psychology, which I teach at A/AS Level.
I like to try and create a safe and calming environment for the pupils that I tutor, and endorse proactive learning and interaction.
As opposed to a classroom environment, which is somewhat regimented, I enjoy tutoring where, to a large part, the student provides the subject matter of what they would want to learn. I organise lesson plans, but am mindful that each student has their own bespoke strengths and weaknesses, so I concentrate predominantly on the areas of weakness, to ensure that all students are able to achieve their potential in the subject being taught.
I am very passionate about teaching and have a lot of information and knowledge to impart.
My motto is learning is fun and does not have to be a chore. If a student enjoys learning, they will be fully engaged and motivated to learn more.
I would love to be given the opportunity to help students achieve their full potential.
