Qualified Teacher | Science & Maths Tutor for KS3 and GCSE pupils

Hi, I'm Jenny ! I’m hugely passionate about sharing my enthusiasm for Science and Maths. I hold a Masters in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford, which has provided me with a strong foundation in both scientific theory and practical applications. I have 4 years professional teaching experience in a variety of settings, including at a leading school in central London.

I am committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and engage deeply with the material. I prioritise understanding the individual needs of each student and help them to develop a genuine passion for the subject. My approach is student-centred, focusing on building critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the material.

Alongside my teaching at schools, I have been tutoring privately for several years, which has given me invaluable experience working closely with students on a one-to-one basis. I believe that this connection makes a huge difference in a student's academic progress and motivation. I have successfully supported numerous pupils through their key GCSE years and many of my students have achieved top grades and surpassed their targets. This success comes from my focus on building strong foundations in the subject content, reinforcing their understanding, and working on exam strategies that help them approach tests with confidence.

I take time to understand their current level of understanding and design sessions that are engaging and challenge pupils. I focus heavily on reinforcing core concepts, as I believe that building strong foundational knowledge is key to long-term success. In addition to subject content, I place a significant emphasis on developing effective exam techniques, such as time management, question analysis, and approaching different question types.
Ultimately, my goal is to make learning a fulfilling experience that empowers students to take on academic challenges with confidence.
