Maths tutor specialising in GCSE and A-level Maths

Hi, I'm Ryan and I'm a passionate Mathematics graduate from Loughborough University with an eagerness to teach the subject that I love, from Primary school up to A-level.

I have been tutoring GCSE and A-level maths for about 3 years on the side of my studies at university, and have honed my teaching techniques to be as effective as possible. I have experience tutoring both online and in-person, and I have found it a highly rewarding experience and love seeing students progress in their studies. I have also completed work experience at a school during my A-level studies, so I have experience in teaching a class as well as one-to-one.

I have a clear and concise teaching style and use plenty of examples, encouraging pupils to get involved in the problem solving process to build their skills. I aim to create fun and interactive lessons so that pupils get the most out of every session. I also like to include real-world applications where possible so that students can get a feel for how mathematics can be used day-to-day.

Whether it be revision over a broad range of topics, or even teaching a whole new subject from fresh, I'll adapt to the student's learning style and preferences. I like to introduce students to exam questions and help build exam skills from an early stage to make the student comfortable with answering all sorts of questions which they might face, however I strive to create a relaxed and stress-free environment. I'll also provide homework tasks where necessary, and will always provide constructive feedback on where the student has excelled and where they could improve.

Where possible, I do prefer students to give me an overview of what they want to learn before each session so that I can plan the lesson. This allows me to teach the content in the most effective way possible so that the students get the most out of every session.
