Phonics and early reading and writing skills

I have a Bachelors Degree in Primary Education and over ten years experience teaching in mainstream classrooms from the ages of three to eleven. I specialise in the teaching and learning of early reading and writing, with a focus on phonics. I have taught as a Reception class teacher for 4 academic years, in a Year 1 classroom for 1 academic year, and as a supply teacher for over three years so I have a secure understanding of the phonic system. I have taught using the Jolly Phonic scheme as well as Bug Club and have tutored and taught towards the Year 1 standardised testing. Due to these experiences, I have a wide range of resources and props to keep children engaged, focused and most importantly, enjoying the learning.
