I am a great believer in the power and the beauty of education, but I also believe it should be fun.

I trained and taught as a primary school teacher for 5 years. After raising my own family, when I learned a lot more about how children learn, I trained and taught as an adult literacy specialist for 11 years, teaching those who didn't get an English qualification at school, those whose first language is not English and parents who wanted to support their child's learning. Meanwhile I did some one-to-one tutoring of children. In 2018 I moved over to private tuition as my main role.

All of this has given me a lot of experience teaching people with learning difficulties or those who had a poor experience of school. My sessions are fun and relevant - we use games and quizzes, not just worksheets - and I have an firm grasp of my subject. I also love my subject! I'm a bit of an English fanatic and aim to covert my students into English-lovers as well.

At our first session I will identify specific areas your child needs to work on and offer some strategies to help him or her straight away. If you wish to continue with the lessons I will map out a personalised plan for you and carry it through in subsequent sessions, checking progress regularly.
