Advert description
My name is Paul. I was a teacher of Science and Physics for 18 years and Head of Physics for 14 years. I worked in state schools in Swansea. I am based in Sketty in the west of Swansea. I have been tutoring full-time since 2016. I have also worked as an assistant examiner for GCSE and A-level physics since 2015.
I was educated locally and I took my A levels at Gorseinon College and studied at Swansea University. I have a degree and spent 4 years gaining a PhD in quantum mechanics. This involved studying in the maths, chemistry and physics departments. I then decided to go into teaching, so I spent a year gaining a PGCE – then I started teaching GCSE physics in a state school in 1997. I moved school in 1998 and mainly taught GCSE physics, and A-level physics. However, I also taught GCSE and A level chemistry when required! Then, in 2002 I was appointed as head of physics in another local secondary school teaching students aged across the full age range 11-18.
In 2016 I decided to concentrate solely on tutoring and examining. I became a senior assessor for physics for a leading UK examination board and worked for them for 6 years. I am now an assistant examiner for three different awarding bodies marking A level, IGCSE and GCSE physics exam papers.
I tutor online using Skype. I charge £30/hour for GCSE and £35/hour for A level tuition.
