Clinical Psychology student at Swansea University

Hi. I am a clinical psychology student at Swansea University. My academic course would help me to bring out my skill in communication, problem-solving and active listening and also various knowledge regarding different therapies and disorders in psychology. My academic experience during my Bachelors, has helped me to gain more knowledge of psychology and its various branches. Abnormal Psychology, Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Organizational Psychology, and Basic Theories in Counselling and Child Development were some of my core courses during my Bachelors. Gaining knowledge through the theory classes and attending practical classes have helped me attain more about the different assessments and tests used in a clinical setting. Moreover, my academic experience in Masters has also helped me in attaining knowledge. Theories of Personality, Cognitive Psychology, Areas of Counselling, Psychopathology, Behaviour Modification, Physiology, Educational Psychology, Positive Psychology, and Group and Family Intervention were some of my core subjects during my Masters. These subjects that I have studied have gained me enough knowledge about various disorders and their treatment methods. In addition to this, my internship training has helped me gain exposure in the clinical field, especially how to take Mental Status Examination and Case History. There are many assessments for assessing a client’s Intelligence Quotient and working with supervisors in the institute have helped me gain more confidence in assessing a client.
