Advert description
I've been teaching art and practicing art for over 25 years now. I teach using positivity and adapt my teaching to suit your needs.
As a Fine Artist, I will teach you how to learn to "see" which will help to gain confidence, overcome anxieties and enjoy the creative process.
I'm a process oriented art teacher and value the journey over the product because I believe the experience will build a stronger artist than the end product alone. I teach using the works of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Piero della Francesca.
The first twenty minutes of a lesson with me, consists of a series of warm up exercises that are designed to loosen you up and get you into the mindset of different ways to use materials or how to dislodge the fear of making marks on white paper.
Further into the lesson we focus on "seeing" and breaking down what we're looking at so that you learn to fine tune what you really see rather than what you think you see and you begin to unhinge any need for perfectionism.
My aim in the beginning is to dislodge any negativity you've experienced in the past with art and to rebuild a more positive experience by utilising games to enhance your imagination which encourage you to think outside the box which in turn helps you develop your ability to "see".
Our final work in a lesson will be a longer more organised drawing of our subject which will incorporate a specific style or material to offer you another way of mark making with faster results.
These sorts of lessons are meant not as one offs but as the foundation for growth and between each lesson it is expected that the student takes time to practice as much as possible in order to see improvements.
