Physics Tutor with eighteen years experience

Hello, my name is Dave Walton and I have been providing A Level and GCSE Physics tuition for about eighteen years and am currently using communication tools such as Zoom and Skype to offer online lessons.

I obtained BSc and PhD degrees from the University of Newcastle and subsequently taught at degree level in the Physics Department of Trinity College Dublin. I have also taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Computer Science Department of the University of Durham.

​I qualified as a teacher in 2003 and have taught at Emmanuel College Gateshead and Barnard Castle School, where I was Head of Physics until I retired in 2017. The shortage of Physics teachers means that I have continued to teach in a number of schools. My experience includes teaching both domestic GCSE and Cambridge International GCSE. At A-Level I have taught the AQA A syllabus, Edexcel Advancing Physics, and also the Cambridge Pre-U course. As a personal tutor I have I provided tuition for the other exam boards.

I have now given up classroom teaching and devote all my time to tuition. I have students in the UK and China.
