I am a native speaker of Chinese and I speak English fluently. My lessons aim at students who'd like to make efforts to practice in their own time.

I remember the struggles of learning a new language, in my first language as well as in the second language itself. Therefore I will teach in both English and Mandarin, whichever is more appropriate for a certain purpose. In our first lesson, we will discuss your learning goals and how I can assist you in achieving them. Prior to our one-to-one lessons, I will look through any homework/practice questions you hand in prior to the lesson. During the lesson, I will provide feedback and answer your questions (in English), followed by new materials to build on your existing skills (in Mandarin). Then you can ask me questions about our new material (in English). After the class, I will send you: - notes that address your blindspots in knowledge and - resources that help you know more or practice more on these topics - new tutorials to work on 师父领进门，修行靠个人。:D (The teacher just introduces the student to the world of a new skill. The cultivation of the skill is on the student's own shoulders) I will guide you in the world of Chinese in my own way. You will taste the sweetness of the outcome from your own effort.
