I have a PGCE; teaching English at early years, primary, secondary level and adults. I also graduated from the University of Chichester with a degree in education which developed my skills and competencies in planning, teaching and assessing learners from key stage 1 through to GCSE level. I have a TEFL certificate and experience of teaching students and preparing them for the Cambridge speaking and listening assessment. I developed learners’ ability to understand and use English in a range of situations, built on learners’ awareness of the nature of language and the four language-learning skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. I have worked as a tutor online for the past 5 years, using a range of different pedagogies to engage students, I have taught in schools, motivating whole classes, small groups to foster the love of learning. As part of my QTS training, I supported students 1-1 who struggled with English, I was able to develop their confidence in English Language and Literature, closing the gaps in their learning.
I have experience of teaching students from different cultures and different backgrounds, supporting them with their learning needs and addressing any gaps in their understanding of the English Language. During my time at Brighton University, I achieved a Certificate of Higher Education in International Travel Management. This has developed my business, project management and resolution skills across different cultures and environments, which I use to help students with development of their use of English for business and management level.
I am currently studying for my Master's in Early Years Education with the University of the West of Scotland, this has enabled me to understand and teach different curriculums, both UK, IB and the Scottish national curriculum. I am very familiar with teaching a range of different study skills, building students confidence and I have a good success rate on helping students pass assessments.
I have experience and knowledge of teaching dentistry and oral anatomy. Supporting student nurses with learning detailed oral anatomy and pathology, preparing students for the UK dental nursing exams. I have worked as a dental nurse in the NHS and private practice, undertaking dentistry, basic life support training and working alongside the dentist during a range of treatments.
