With each year group comes a different type of learning. While I understand from experience different students learn at different paces, it is important for me to assess their skill level to make the following categories suit them.
For those aged within KS3, we will cover the basics, and attempt to go ahead if I feel they are capable of doing so. Nailing the fundamentals at this age will make the future considerably easier, so simplifying concepts is key.
Secondly, for those aged within the KS4 bracket, we aim to build on these skills and recover them if necessary. I feel everybody has their own way of learning, so I will catalyse the student's ability to discover how they learn, by exposing them to different avenues of thinking. This will usually entail a lot of continuous cycles of exam practice and content covering.
