Modern Foreign Languages Specialist for beginner to advanced level German

Advert description
At age 12, I had no familial ties to Germany and I was curious as to why I was gravitating towards it rather than the more popular languages. I consider that decision to be the best I have ever made and I feel lucky to have this skill. Being a German speaker has always given me an edge in my working life and that is what motivated me to teach this high-demand language.

Starting with GCSE and A Level German, I completed my degree in German and International Relations. I went on to use my German for several years professionally within the IT sector. Seeing the high demand for it in my field and the lack of German speakers, I decided to complete my PCSE in secondary Modern Foreign Languages and ended up managing my department. I taught beginners right through to near natives sitting the GCSE and A Level and have done one to one tutoring outside of the school environment. I am a passionate Germanophile, and love to teach. I can bring diverse background and experience to the table for anyone wishing to learn or improve on their German for study and/or work. Due to my current additional study in the field of English as a foreign language I am also keen to teach those learning my native language.

I love setting tasks that practise elements of reading, writing, listening and reading but I especially like to promote speaking and listening since it's something which was sadly a little lacking for me in my own journey and actually was most needed when I arrived for my study year in Germany. I encourage learners to take risks, not to fear failing and to try to form good habits in vocabulary acquisition.
