AS and A-Level Psychology Online Tutor £20/hr

Advert description
I graduated with a BSc 2:1 degree in Psychology from the Cardiff University in 2016.

In the UK, The AS and A-Level curriculum may vary slightly depending on the examining board, but generally, I cover fundamental concepts in psychology. Here are some common topics that a psychology teacher will cover:

Research Methods in Psychology: Students learn about various research methods used in psychological studies, including experiments, observations, surveys, and case studies. They explore the strengths and limitations of different methodologies.

Biological Psychology: This area explores the relationship between the brain, the nervous system, and behavior. Topics may include brain structure and function, neurotransmitters, and the biological basis of mental processes.

Cognitive Psychology: Students examine mental processes such as memory, perception, language, and problem-solving. They explore cognitive theories and models that explain how humans process information.

Social Psychology: This branch focuses on how individuals think, feel, and behave in social situations. Topics may include social influence, conformity, obedience, prejudice, and attitudes.

Developmental Psychology: This area explores human development across the lifespan, covering topics such as infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and aging. Students may study theories of development and factors influencing growth.

Psychopathology: Students learn about various psychological disorders, their symptoms, causes, and treatment options. This may include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders.

Approaches in Psychology: This topic covers major psychological perspectives, such as the psychodynamic, behaviorist, cognitive, and biological approaches. Students explore the key ideas and theorists associated with each approach.

Issues and Debates in Psychology: This involves discussing ethical issues in research, cultural and gender bias, and debates within the field of psychology. It encourages students to critically evaluate different perspectives.

Practical Applications of Psychology: Students may learn how psychological research is applied.

Firstly, we will have a free Zoom session to find out which examining board you are on (AQA, OCR or edexcel). We will discuss what areas you think you want help in and how I plan my sessions.
