I use a mixture of conversation, handouts and activities within my lessons to ensure I cater for all learning styles. Conversation, ideas and discussions are of high importance in my classes as I feel it's one of not the best way to learn English. Whilst I lesson plan every class there is flexibility and if students want to ask questions or talk about a particular topic within class I am more than happy to accommodate this. I welcome the use of translator applications on phones but also encourage students to talk in English in class where possible.
I encourage repetition of vocabulary and conversation topics between students and will often introduce activities for working in pairs or groups.
I will use visual props to help with pronounsation and will also use books, flipcharts and videos for learning. I encourage students to practice what they have learnt at home and ask them to question items they do not understand or find difficult.
Overall I feel I am an encouraging teacher who makes my students feel relaxed and able to confidently engage within the class.
