Science teacher with many years of tutoring experience: mainstream and SEN, schooled or home-schooled

With a specialism and PhD in Chemistry, I have taught Science for many years (GSCE, IGCSE, A-level and IB). I also mark the Chemistry IGCSE papers yearly. More recently (7 years), I have been homeschooling students with SEN with many rewards and successes, up to GCSE Maths (Foundation and Higher) with an emphasis on learning techniques suited to my students and building up confidence in their abilities. My strengths have always been creating a positive, trusting, nurturing environment which provides them the opportunity to ask the questions they are scared to ask, and find ways to make it easier to learn, remember and apply. It's not just about subject knowledge but the ability to adapt and personalise it to your students.
