Advert description
I have my Ph.D. in Contemporary Egyptian Novel, M.A. in Modern Novel, M.A. in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language and B.A., Arabic Language and Islamic Studies.
I have taught several Arabic classes for both heritage and foreign learners and has also conducted numerous one-on-one and group tutorials. I teach MSA, Egyptian colloquial Arabic, conversation, Egyptian series, Media, and grammar in contextualization. My approach in teaching is a student-centered approach, and I like the interactive learning environment between student and teacher. My research interests include second language acquisition, second language pedagogy, integrating corpora in language teaching, written and spoken Colloquial Egyptian Arabic and believe the Egyptian
linguistic reality is best represented by the notion of Code-switching in terms of recognizing Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Egyptian not only as two languages living side by side, but also in a state of integration rather than a state of a conflict, and teaching methodologies. I have more than twenty years of experience in teaching Arabic to Native speakers and non-native speakers.
I started with giving one-to-one tutoring in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and
Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) for Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced
levels at Misr International University. I attended many observations for senior Arabic instructors to learn.
from them their teaching methods and experiences. I worked as an Assist Professor for
more than 10 semesters and received excellent evaluations.
I taught Al-Kitab Book, Al-Kitaab Al-Asasi, (Parts 1,2) Media Arabic, Uktub al A'arbiyya,
, Kalaam Gamiil and Let’s Chat in Arabic.
During my studies, I learned many things about teaching methodologies, second language acquisition, designing language tests for the four skills and computer
assisted language learning (CALL). Moreover, I have attended training about how to teach online. I also attended some workshops for teaching listening and workshop about the use of technology at the University beside the Annual Workshop of the Arabic Language Institute.
I attended the joint TAFL Conference of AUC and Texas University and took part in the round table discussion for
finding solutions to the challenges that face Arabic as Foreign Language (AFL)
teachers. I plan to achieve and improve both work and life success.
I am ready for Arabic class.
