Advert description
I'm a Songwriting student at BIMM Manchester University, I have been playing guitar for 7 years and I taught guitar to some of the children in the village I grew up in. I provide a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for teaching and prefer to teach people what they want to learn and not what I think they should know. I have an in depth knowledge of chord theory, melody, styles and genres, plus a basic knowledge of music theory. I have experience performing live, recording in studios, performing as a function band as well as writing and performing my own songs. Through my expansive knowledge of music I hope to understand what my students are interested in and aid them in learning to play guitar in a way that would reflect their interests in what and how they learned. During our initial session I will assess your current skill level, ask general questions of your knowledge of guitar and figure out a plan for what to focus on each week. Then with every subsequent lesson I will see what progress you have made and continue building on your knowledge every week, be it teaching chords, scales, strumming, picking, theory and training your musical ear. My knowledge of guitar isn't from a graded perspective, so I am best suited for people learning as a hobby and not for examinations. On top of tutoring children in my village I have also taught college students whom I would be more than happy to provide references for. I'm able to come to your house, or to provide lessons remotely, so I hope to meet some students soon!
