Had my first guitar lesson with Ross, he created a comfortable space to learn, Ross asked before the lesson what I already knew, if there were any songs I wanted to learn and if I had any goals I wanted to work toward, this helped the lesson to be focused more on me as an individual.
During the lesson Ross made sure to explain things easily, he was open to answering any questions I had and walked me through how to tune the guitar and the different chords.
Ross brought a chord chart for the song I wanted to learn and taught me how to understand it, he explained the different finger placement for chords and helped me to come up with different ways to remember them.
At the end of the lesson he gave me things I can do at home to continue working on what he taught me.
Overall I really enjoyed my first lesson with Ross, he was very easy-going and relaxed and made sure I knew it was ok if I didn't get it right on the first try. I look forward to our next lesson.
