Positively contributing to the lives of individuals is incredibly important to me. My first key step is to make the tutee feel comfortable by first understanding their likes and what they struggle with. This can then be used a template for future lessons to ensure the student will be able to both enjoy and engage with the learning materials as the former, more often than not, facilitates the latter. The subject matter and aim (e.g. exam prep vs understanding lesson content) will determine the layout of lessons, taking into consideration what the student feels like works best for them.
