I have 12 years of teaching experience and have developed a fairly reliable instinct for what a learner needs in terms of fundamentals. I am pretty good when it comes to building rapport and relating to what the student shares with me, which almost always creates trust. Once this has been cultivated, a process of initial confidence-instilling in the student takes place. With good degrees of trust & confidence have been established, the teaching, or the language acquisition, then flows smoothly and effortlessly according to a pre-agreed syllabus or free-flowing conversation with consistent correction. Context-related humour features prominently in my lessons.
