Advert description
I have worked as a tutor since 16, when I set up a charity-funded tutoring co-operative with other sixth formers to provide subsidised lessons to secondary pupils. Since then I have worked for agencies and extensively in a private capacity at every level from 11+ to undergraduate proofreading and marking. I read Middle Eastern Languages at SOAS and graduated with a First in Philosophy and Literature at the University of Warwick. I have delivered a paper at the European Academy of Religion Conference at St. Andrews, 2023, the only then-undergraduate to do so. I am presently studying at postgraduate level while working as a secondary school teacher (Geography and English).
My specialisms are undoubtedly in the Humanities, but over years of experience I have tutored every subject at GCSE and almost everything at A-Level (and dabbling in Phonics for primary age pupils) and seen numerous pupils proceed to considerable success at results day and beyond. I believe in cultivating intellectual curiosity through promoting challenge and inspiring awe and wonder in the field in question, but many years of experience have taught me the virtues of structure, dedicated practice and the pragmatic steps necessary to take any pupil over the line.
Besides my academic profile, I am a competent speaker of French, Italian, Romanian and Persian.
