Experienced History Tutor offering tailored sessions for students at all levels

Advert description
Hello there!

My name is Daniel, and I am a patient and committed History Tutor offering tailored sessions for students of all abilities working at any level (secondary, GCSE, A-Level, degree level, masters level).

I hold a Masters of Arts degree in History from University College London (UCL), for which I received a high merit (69.4%), and a Bachelors of Arts degree in History from Queen Mary University of London, for which I received a first. Having studied History throughout my educational life, from primary school through to postgraduate education, I understand exactly what is required to excel as a student of History. Through my first-hand experience studying this discipline, I have acquired a range of skills and insights, all of which I am eager to share with any history student looking to develop or refine their abilities and achieve their goals.

As your History Tutor, I work hard to provide you with a supportive and engaging learning experience. With your consultation, I carefully curate our sessions to suit your particular needs and objectives, organised around the areas which you feel you need most assistance and what you hope to achieve. For students working at lower levels, sessions might focus on strengthening core skills - learning how to properly structure an essay, identify cause and effect relationships, utilise evidence effectively, engage in basic analysis of primary and secondary sources, and construct a narrative. For those students who are working at a more advanced level, we may instead look at developing new skills such as engaging with historians debates around the subject or crafting more incisive critical analyses.

For students of all levels, these sessions can also function as revision exercises taking a greater focus on content rather than academic writing skills. Please note that my sessions are most appropriate for students studying modern history (1700 - present) as it is to topics within this timeframe that I have had the greatest exposure. In particular, students studying modern European and American history will find my sessions especially useful.

Whether you’re looking to achieve higher marks on your History exam, compose more balanced and penetrating essays, or simply bolster your understanding of a historical topic, my sessions are designed to provide you with the confidence to achieve your academic goals.
