English Tutor/Language Arts/ Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate

I have a Master's Degree and undergraduate degree in English . My previous students have done exceedingly well on the local state exams, the ACT exams, the SAT and the Advanced Placement exams of both the College Board and the International Baccalaureate program. Their pass rate has been a 99.5%. I have taught for 38 years and deeply enjoy engaging with young minds and hearts. Tutoring is a joy.

I tend to want to know what students think they need to help improve their performance and so my classes are frequently based on student need and their self-evaluation. Can a student articulate and understand their own areas of strength and weakness? From there, I would build a curriculum using the vast array of materials I possess and that student input. Naturally, I would offer guidance and insight to help students understand what might actually be expected of them in class or on exams and what I observe they might need to improve their performance. Together, we can then move forward. I am there to support and guide and inform.
