I’m Kaoru; I was born and raised in Japan, and I have taught Japanese language and culture at a public US high school for the last 25 years. My students would describe me as personable, passionate, and patient.

I craft engaging and enjoyable lessons based on your goals, interests, learning styles, and skills using various techniques.

My specialties are "Beginner Japanese," "Conversational Japanese," and "Japanese for Travelers."

I love traveling with my students; I have conducted 14 trips to Japan so far for over 150 people.

My personal side… I love traveling, figure skating, and writing; I have published five books so far.
