I have passionately taught for 25 years and welcome everyone of any age, from beginner to intermediate to Advanced learners.

-25 years of teaching experience at a public high school in the US
-3 years of teaching experience at a community college in the US
-2 years of teaching experience for tutoring adult learners in Japan and US

Besides learning the language, learning the culture plays an extremely powerful role in language learning. This is why I have led 14 trips to Japan with over 150 people from the US so far. Therefore Japanese for traveling is one of my specialties.

- Use a variety of teaching techniques to promote your Japanese outputs in a positive and not-judgmental environment.

- Provide many visuals, mnemonics, cartoons, songs, and cultural themes for you to explore and practice.

- Focus primarily on speaking skills but I am ready to work on the level and skill you are most interested in practicing.


I co-authored a book in English on the Kansai dialect for non-native speakers; don’t worry, I use and teach standard Japanese. The book has been on the market for almost 30 years worldwide, and I am happy that my book helped Japanese learners worldwide.
