Advert description
I have a 2:1 degree in Medical Sciences with Neuroscience (BSc) and am entering my 4th year of studying Medicine (MBBS) at UCL. I achieved an A* in Biology at A-Level & 8 at GCSE, and have some highly mark-scheme specific A-Level revision resources that I used to achieve this grade, and would be happy to pass on. I spent a year as a Student Mentor in UCL's Target Medicine Mentoring Scheme supporting 20 sixth-form students from underrepresented backgrounds with their applications to study Medicine, including personal statements and conducting mock interviews, which would be the areas I am best suited to help with. I completed a summer teaching internship at Paddington Academy, teaching parts of four Biology and Chemistry lessons to a classroom of 25 students. I worked as an Early Years Practitioner for a kid's holiday summer camp, leading and tailoring activities to the needs and interests of the children. I enjoy teaching the content of my medical course to my peers and passing on my knowledge, understanding and experience to others. I begin with foundations of concepts, definitions, etc. and move onto sub-topics in an organised way, with an introduction, discussion and significant use of questions - an important approach for exams. I believe my qualifications, experience with teaching and passion for the subject areas will facilitate great and beneficial learning opportunities for students. Please take the first 30 minutes free to see whether you decide it's a good fit for you.
