I have a PH.D. in Biology along with a MSc in Microbiology and a BSc in Medical Technology. I am able to teach at a primary, secondary and tertiary levels. I have extensive research abilities in Biology. When dealing with students i apply coaching and nurturing techniques and I am gentle and patient with students . I am able to teach basic Biology of Plants and animals. I am able to look at animal and plant cells. The basic Biological unit is a cell. The cell is made of organelles. some of the organelles are nucleus, cell membrane, mitochondria, golgi apparatus, ribosomes, lysosomes, peroxisomes. The nucleus consist of ribonucleic acid DNA or RNA. This is the unit of life because within the nucleus you have chromosomes which consist od DNA and DNA contain genes. Genes are the unit of heredity. It is responsible for traits that are passed from i generation to the other. I have attended seminars, workshops and conferences where i delivered lectures on Biology subjects. I have done extensive lectures in cancer Biology. Cancer is a disease that is caused by mutation or change in DNA sequence that results in the cell multiplying uncontrollable. The cell will travel to distant sites and impair the functioning of vital organs. Some of the common cancers are breast, prostate, colon, lung, gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic and cervical cancer. The most common cancer in women is breast cancer and the most common in males is prostate cancer. The cancer that comes next in frequency is colon cancer. It is good to do mammogram to detect breast cancer and prostate specific antigen test along with direct rectal examination to detect prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the slowest growing cancer so early detection is critical. Early signs of breast cancer is lump in breast, pain in breast or discharge from the breast. If there are swollen parts of the breast one should check with their doctor urgently. cancers can be carcinoma, sarcoma, leukemia, lymphoma and melanoma. Carcinoma is the most common type. It originates in the epithelial tissues. If one lives long enough he or she will know of or hear of someone with cancer. It is a killer and robs individuals of their loved ones.
