I have been tutoring for 2 years. Students who learned from me are not native speakers and the reason that they learn mandarin is because they are interested in a new language. I don't follow exam style learning as I think it is tedious. of course especially for non native / beginner learner you will need some sort of books/ materials in assisting your learning process.
