Advert description
I am a final year Mathematics student and have previously tutored GCSE students and primary school children in English and Maths for 2 years. I enjoy teaching as it allows me to express my interest in the subject which I can pass on to younger students. I use a range of teaching methods such as providing examples, showing where potential errors could be made in questions that my students can then avoid, and helping and prompting them in the right direction with their homework/school work. I follow the school curriculum to navigate the way in which I teach and depending on the student and their abilities I am more than happy at challenging them with harder work. This ensures they understand their current school work and gives them an opportunity to excel beyond their level.
Having a tutor is crucial as students can discuss and ask questions about topics that they don't understand in preparation for their exams. Speaking from first-hand experience, having a tutor during my GCSEs extremely helped me achieve my best grade, having seen how much it has helped and supported me, it would be a pleasure to teach students going through the same difficulties.
Studying Mathematics at university has opened many doors and given me a vast insight into how significant Maths is in today's society. Mathematics is used in a wide range of activities ranging from computer programming to music to even preparing food! It is essential in our everyday lives and it is an essential tool to gain. Overall my passion for Mathematics roots down to how it was portrayed to me as a child in and out of school, with these influences and spending many hours on Maths it is a subject I am extremely fond of. I hope to pass this on to my future students so they have the opportunity to appreciate how Mathematics is much more than just a subject at school.
