I have done GCSE Maths tutoring for a few years whereby I follow a simple structure. Firstly, I go through a past paper with the student to figure out their weaknesses and go through their exam boards specification to see if they can highlight any worries they have. From that I plan lessons based on the subjects they are struggling with. I try to go through one or 2 in each session with a short recap of them at the beginning of the next one to see if more work is need.
For the past year I have worked as a teaching assistant in a SEN Secondary which has taught me how to tutor all subject as it had a mixed curriculum. Furthermore it has taught me how to work with neurodiverse children and I now have an amazing toolbox of methods for children who need an adapted way of learning.
