Advert description
For the past 5 years, I have been the Head of Inclusion and Well-being based within a high school. As part of my role, I am the whole school Designated Safeguarding Officer as well as both adult and student counsellor.
As part of this role, I teach a range of therapy lessons for students who have been identified to have emotional, social and behavioural needs. These programs of work include family work, CBT, anxiety, grounding techniques, exam stress, meditation, separation and loss, bereavement, getting to know themselves, self esteem. I also have experience of working with students and adults who have complex SEMH needs, including ADHD, visual impairment and other identified needs for support.
Previous to this role, I worked in both primary education and Early Years.
By gaining mutual trust and respect, I am able to personalise individual bespoke emotional literacy lessons by using a CBT approach that compliments PHSE lessons.
Students will have the opportunity to build self confidence and self esteem by being proud of their achievements while learning through the power of the mind and reverse psychology. The learners will be part of joint ownership by agreeing to personal targets that have been identified as a need for further development when using their visual personal action plans.
