History Tutor: GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, IB History. Over 20 years experience

I have master's and bachelor's degrees. I have a lifelong love of History, a subject I’ve taught for over 30 years and have had two books published. My experience tutoring students is also extensive, both face-to-face and online. I have learned how to bring out the best in students. I am an excellent communicator and a great listener. As a tutor, I tailor my teaching to meet the needs of every student. A parent wrote in one testimonial this year: “With Adam's guidance, our son developed a newfound appreciation for the subject. He needed support with the exams’ specific requirements regarding structure and vocabulary and we saw huge improvements in both.” My years as an examiner for both GCSE and IB History have given me insights into how to help students maximise their exam potential. Whether it is structuring an essay or analysing a primary source, I encourage an incremental building of skills, often through past papers. I have a comprehensive knowledge of the subject, but I am particularly experienced in teaching and tutoring Medieval to Modern History, especially the 20th century.
