Experienced History Teacher and Senior Leader offering tuition to GCSE and A Level students

I have a History Degree (BA Hons 2.1) and a PGCE in secondary History and have been teaching since 2007. I became Head of History and then moved into Leadership roles in 2016 where I worked as an Assistant Head for 5 years and a Deputy Head for a term before going on maternity leave. I have worked in several large comprehensive schools in Surrey and have tutored a number of students successfully over the years. In addition, my teaching experience has been mainly teaching KS4 and 5 students where I have a track record of securing excellent outcomes as well as supporting a number of students in successful applications for History degrees. I have marked for exam boards over the course of my career and feel confident in unpicking mark schemes and exam board criteria in order to help students succeed. My calm and supportive manner has benefitted all of my students and this has been helped by my experience in mentoring and coaching (I also hold a coaching qualification).

I am currently taking a career break whilst my daughter is young but am keen to remain working in the field of education in some capacity as I am passionate about working with young people.
