Achieved an A* in maths for GCSEs, I understand the struggles of being bad at math and it really is just simply practice because I was there once too. I would teach by asking the child for their curriculum and then base my lessons off of that by explaining to them methods and how to approach a question and then allowing them to check their understanding. I would then assign whatever I teach as homework so they recall it.
