Advert description
I have previous experience working in the classroom in the capacity of a Secondary Geography Teacher. Within this role I engaged with a range of students aged 11 to 18 years, engaging them in programmes of learning examining both Human and Physical aspects of the discipline of Geography whilst also encompassing the key interactions between humans and their environment. Additionally many key historical and contemporary issues and conflicts were examined and discussed with students.
Due to the diverse backgrounds, interests and abilities of students it was important to differentiate approaches, taking into account individuals' needs, abilities and desired outcomes.
Since working as a classroom teacher I have diversified my experience and skills working within the Further/Higher Education sectors working with students across a diverse range of courses within a local college, whom have a variety of often complex additional support needs/requirements. I have worked closely with students to assess their needs and formulate appropriate support plans, as well as act as an advocate for students and intermediary between the student and academic colleagues, being the first to act upon investigation/assessment of students' issues/complaints.
