Advert description
Hello!
Maths is a a subject I am very passionate about and I wish to extend some of that to help others. I have recently achieved Grade 9 in GCSE maths and study A-level further maths currently, on top of doing further reading around the subject. I am experienced in mathematical problem solving achieving a merit in the UKMT Senior Kangaroo this year.
Maths is often reduced to mindless repetition of the same arithmetical steps, which is ultimately stifling and unfaithful to how interesting the subject can be. I hope to provide the depth of understanding necessary so they can walk into their GCSEs, confident that they know what they are doing, not only because they have memorised the necessary techniques but because they know why they work. I also wish to pass on, and have my students put into practise the skills needed for mathematical problem solving proficiency, and so guide my students to not just pass, but excel in their exams and achieve the best possible grades.
I also recognise no two students are the same so I will tailor every lesson to the specifics needs and wants of each. It is my solemn belief that learning maths can be enjoyable to most people and most people just need a teacher or tutor who can engage them just as I have had in the past. It is through this that a student can deepen their understanding and learn the specific skills and knowledge required so they can have success in their exams and any future mathematical endeavours.
It should be noted also there is a large overlap between maths and physics. I am also very passionate about physics; I achieved a grade 9 in my GCSEs, I study it at A-level, and I do further reading. I also achieved Gold in the British Physics Olympiad in 2024.
Similar principles apply: physics is normally reduced to the memorisation of formulas and explanations, but I want to give my students the depth of understanding necessary to feel confident in the subject by using specially tailored, engaging lessons. Through this they will hopefully uncover what makes the subject interesting. I also want my students to learn and be able to put into practise the problem solving skills and specific techniques necessary to not only pass but achieve top grades in their exams.
Please don't hesitate to message.
Thanks, Bosco
