The history of the twentieth century is important to the people of today. I aim to show why, in doing so stimulating people's desire to study a wide range of material raising fundamental questions about our values and way of life today.
Advert description
Why did 14 Britsh prime ministers have an education at one single Oxford University college, and why were as many more schooled in other Oxford and Cambridge colleges? Why was perhaps the greatest British prime minister unable to gain a similar education? These, and other thorny questions, are central to understanding the history of Great Britain and its position in the world today. Ignore it at your peril. 'Those who cannot remember the past', wrote the philosopher Santayana, 'are condemned to repeat it'. I will help my pupils to understand what the past has to teach us and to hone skills which ought to be invaluable in any field of endeavour.
