Maths and Biology Lessons in-person or online

Hi my name is Candaice (pronounced as 'can-deese') and I am in my last year of studying a Masters of Science (MSci) in Mathematical Biology at University of Dundee.

I can tutor both GCSE - A-levels/National 5 - Advanced higher, but my main focus is bringing a strong foundation in GCSE/National 5 to prepare students for higher levels. By achieving a stable basic level will beautifully guide the student into their higher studies at ease which will leave to reduced stressed levels and maintaining a balanced mental health during their overall studies.

I can also tutor GCSE/National 5 Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

In terms of teaching methods, I have found what works best with many students is by providing examples at the beginning of each topic; then allowing the student to solve similar problems on their own with the input of myself if needed; and then going over the answers at the end. This technique will encourage to students to problem solve with a given example and effectively captures the methodology by practicing.

Since having many different teachers/lecturers over the years I have come across different teaching styles and this is an opportunity for us to explore what works bests between student and tutor. A good communication between the student and tutor will definitely improve both our learning and understanding. So please don't be shy to ask to change our learning and teaching styles during our lessons.
