My name is Seth Agbenyenu.I hold BSc (Hons) degree in Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology (Ghana) and an MSc in Applied Mathematics from Hull University (United Kingdom). My work history span over two decades and is entirely in the classroom. It all started right after my A level where I taught age range 9 to 10 years as part of my mandatory national service. My encounter with this age group gave me my first classroom experience and that was where I developed the interest, and passion for teaching as a long-life career. My quest for knowledge led me to the University of Science and technology to pursue a degree programme from 1993 to 1997.
After graduating with BSc degree in Mathematics, I went back to the classroom to continue with my teaching. As part of my mandatory national service, I taught age range 11-14yrs mathematics for a year in a junior high School. Subsequently, i moved on to a Senior high school where I taught Additional Mathematics and Extended Mathematics. This was the point where I really discovered my real potential as a teacher and as a good Mathematics teacher. My deep subject knowledge in Mathematics together with my teaching style was evident in the results of the first batch of students I taught. Having taught for three years from-I thought of the need to further enriched my subject knowledge and this took me to England to pursue MSc in Applied Mathematics at the University of Hull from 2004 to 2005.
I returned back to my home country, and I got a job as a part-time mathematics lecturer with the Regional Maritime University from 2009 till date. The following year in September 2010, I got a job as a full-time mathematics teacher at East Airport International School where they run the British curriculum program (IGCSE) and A level. I have been involved in teaching Advanced Level Mathematics (AS/AL) and Extended level Mathematics for a decade now. I have attended a number of workshops organized by the British council and had numerous in-service trainings as part of our continuous professional development. Currently, I am pursuing a PGCE (mathematics) at St Mary's University Twickenham.
