Advert description
I am a final year immunology PhD student at Imperial College London with over 10 years of tutoring experience and I have tutored over 60 students. I personally did the IB programme in 2014 doing IB higher level Chemistry, Physics, and Maths before doing a 4 year integrated masters in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford. I have experience with the GCSE, iGCSE, IB, EB, and A-level syllabuses.
My tutoring style varies depending on the student. I usually start with topics that the student is fairly comfortable with, progressing quickly to new and more complex areas as their understanding grows. I tend to use past exam paper questions on a particular topic to check understanding as we're going through the topic. For IB and the IGCSE sciences and maths, I have made summary notes on each unit topic and have compiled past exam paper questions on that topic with answers. Once a student has grasped a topic, I shift my focus to exam technique: what to look for in exam questions, common pitfalls, and how to start tackling the more challenging questions. I believe that a clear and systematic approach is essential when studying for exams in the sciences. In addition to help understanding concepts and exam technique, I am also able to help with IB internal assessments such as the Maths exploration or the IB extended essays.
