Advert description
I studied languages at college in Italy; however, I decided to move to London when I was 19. I have Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Health Psychology. I worked for the NHS for a year, but I then realised that I missed the interaction with the people, and I wanted to get an insight into a job field that would allow me to be more creative. So I worked as a teaching assistant in nurseries and primary schools and was recently certified as a TEFL tutor.
I speak three languages: Spanish, English and Italian. However, I am originally Italian; therefore, I am open to sharing my knowledge of Italian with my students.
My knowledge of Spanish is also very good. However, I was trained to teach English as a second language. Therefore, my primary choice would be to use the PPP methodology, which involves a presentation stage followed by a controlled practice exercise. I would encourage students to freely express themselves through activities involving a lot of speaking and communication. Students would then be allowed to use the language in context and produce it themselves.
Although this is the structure I would follow, I am very open to different methodologies and activities, as people may be at different levels in their learning process. For example, the first lesson could be crucial to identify the student's strengths and weaknesses and their interests and goals. Lessons could then be explicitly tailored to the students' needs and preferences.
